Here is your opportunity to show your appreciation for your favorite Working dog. All visitors are encouraged to send a photo of your favorite Working dog. Working photos are preferred but are not the only photos that will be displayed. (Please include name, titles, sire/dam info on the back of each photograph). All Working breeds will be recognized and displayed for your enjoyment.(Rottweilers,German Shepherds, Malinois etc). Photographs will be added and maintained at the site mangers discretion. Photos will also be added on a first come first served basis.
My love for Working dogs came from my exposure to the sport of Schutzhund.I had the priviledge of training with some of the most talented and dedicated trainers in the sport. It was then that I started studying pedigrees and reading anything on the sport I could find. I learned that bloodlines and genetics play an enormous role on the kinds of dogs produced.
Some people who breed for a prettier dog, would sometimes sacrifice working ability. Please note** I have nothing against pretty dogs, my preference is just working dogs.
The Germans use breed ratings such as ZTP, KKL, ZW numbers, Korungs etc, to determine a dogs breed worthiness. Most of these titles were only obtainable by dogs who had working bloodlines.
Each person has a different opinion on the best working breed as well as the sport they train in. Eg (KNPV,Ringsport,Schutzhund etc). Some people like the intelligence of German shepherds.Some people like the speed and drives of Malinois. Others like the size and intensity of a good Rottweiler. No matter what your breed, all of these magnificent animals deserve a lot of credit. Enjoy your visit! :)
